This Privacy Policy applies to Steelgate Technologies' ("Steelgate") collection and use of personally identifying information ("Personal Information") that we may gather when you visit our Website, purchase, license, or use Steelgate Products or Services, or contact us. How Steelgate Uses Personal Information

Personal Data

We will not sell or market the email addresses or other collected personal information of registered Users to third parties.
We will not view the files that you backup using the Service.
We may view your file system information (file extensions, sizes etc. but not your file contents) to provide technical support.
You acknowledge and agree that Steelgate may occasionally send you administrative communications regarding your account or the Service via email.

Cookies and Passive Data Collection

Steelgate uses cookie, IP address, and URL information to improve and further develop the Service, and to provide enhanced or geographically differentiated features and service levels to Users, where available. Steelgate uses cookies to save User screen names, session validators, and on Users' browsers and hard drives, and may use them to provide tailored products and services to those Users, as they become available.

IP Addresses also help us diagnose network congestion, problems with our servers and otherwise assist in the administration and delivery of the Service to our Users.

User Information Steelgate Collects

Personal Data

Once you register with Steelgate and sign in to the Service, you are not anonymous to Steelgate.

When registering with Steelgate, your provide Personal Data, which may include company name, phone number, your title, city, state, country, zip code, a user name, confirmed email address, and a password. When backing data up with the Service, you send us that data, including names of files and directories. Steelgate also records your IP address when you submit information.

All information collected by Steelgate is used for internal purposes of providing the Service, providing support to users, and to improve services. Aggregating non-identifying information supplied by users allows Steelgate to understand its user base and to improve services.

To protect your account information, please keep your password secure.

All Users may opt to remove their Personal Data from our live database by contacting Steelgate and canceling their Steelgate user account by sending an e-mail to support@steelgate.com, indicating the username and a request to delete the account.  

Cookies and Passive Data Collection

Steelgate automatically receives and records information on our server logs, including your IP address, cookie information, and the tasks you request.

Users should be aware that other websites visited before entering the Steelgate websites might place Personal Data within a User's URL during a visit to their website, and Steelgate has no control over such websites. Accordingly, some of this information may be logged by Steelgate.

Security

Steelgate is SAS 70 level II certified and uses industry standard security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.  Personal Information provided to Steelgate is stored in secure facilities with access restricted to authorized personnel only. Although we make good faith efforts to store the Personal Information we collect in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to unauthorized users, we cannot guarantee complete security.

To provide secure credit card processing when ordering from us, orders placed on our website are processed through a payment gateway which operates under its own privacy policy. If you choose to purchase or license Steelgate Products or Services online using a credit card, the credit card information is sent to Steelgate using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption, an industry-standard method for protecting data as it travels over the Internet, or a similar encryption technology that may become accepted as an industry standard or better encryption method, in the future ("Transmission Encryption"). Updating or Removing User Information

You may, at any time, choose to correct or update the information you have submitted to Steelgate by updating your account on our website.

If you cancel your account, your Personal Data and other information may be retained in our archive or backup records.

Adherence to European Union Safe Harbor Privacy Principles

The Personal Information we collect from individuals or equipment located in the European Economic Area ("European Personal Information") may be processed on servers in the United States.

Severability

This Privacy Policy shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. If for any reason any provision of this Privacy Policy is held to be invalid or unenforceable to any extent under applicable law, then (i) such provision will be interpreted, construed, or reformed to the extent reasonably required to render it valid, enforceable, and consistent with the original intent underlying such provision and (ii) such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision of this Privacy Policy and all such provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
